The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host its second Harvest in the Park this weekend.

The event will take place between noon and 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Dewey Lake Downstream Recreation Area.

Local businesses and organizations are offering treats for children at this event, which will also feature several activities, including a costume contest for children up to age 13.

Prizes will be given in several age groups and other activities and games will also be available at the event. The Corps’ mascot, Bobber the Water Safety Dog, will meet and greet children at the event.

Harvest in the Park is one of several Halloween-themed activities open in Floyd County this weekend.

Jenny Wiley State Resort Park will open its Haunted Hayride at the campground on Friday and Saturday, as well as its Haunted Boat Ride. The Middle Creek Fire Department is also hosting its haunted house on Friday and Saturday.
