The Prestonsburg Police Department recovered a vehicle last week that had allegedly been stolen from Louisville.
Stephanie Flink, 36, of Flatgap, was arrested for receiving stolen property valued at $10,000, following an investigation the department conducted on Aug. 28.
Prestonsburg Police Department Officer Harold Bingham reports in the citation that he checked the license plate on a vehicle that was allegedly double parked on a sidewalk at Dogwood Apartments in Prestonsburg that evening and determined that it had been registered as stolen from Louisville.
Bingham reported that the department took possession of the vehicle and found a court document related to a case in Johnson County and a tax return form for Flink inside of it.
Flink allegedly reported that the owner of the vehicle was Matthew Fields, her boyfriend, and that he knew she was driving it.
Flink was arrested and transported to the Floyd County Detention Center that day. On Aug. 29, she appeared in Floyd County District Court for an arraignment.
District Judge Eric Hall placed her under a $1,000 cash bond and scheduled a preliminary hearing in the case for Sept. 3.
She is also being held for a Johnson County case, court records show. In that case, she is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 9 in a circuit court case in which she is charged with two counts of first-degree trafficking of a controlled substance.
