A Floyd County grand jury issued an indictment this month against a Prestonsburg resident who is accused at shooting a gun at another man.
An indictment was issued against Michael Burchett, 57, of Prestonsburg, charging him with first-degree wanton endangerment, third-degree terroristic threatening, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and for allegedly being a persistent felony offender in the second degree.
The case stems from an alleged incident that occurred on April 30 at Burchett’s home in Prestonsburg.
Floyd County Commonwealth’s Attorney Brent Turner said, “The allegation is that the defendant fired a gun at the victim multiple times as he was leaving his home, leaving the defendant’s home.”
He said no injuries were reported, but the alleged victims’ vehicle was damaged.
Burchett is scheduled to be arraigned in Floyd Circuit Court on Oct. 24.
