Prestonsburg Tourism will host its third Night Market of the season this weekend.
The Prestonsburg Night Market will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, in downtown Prestonsburg.
The open-air market showcases local artists and musicians, as well as small businesses and up-and-coming businesses.
Prestonsburg Tourism Director Samantha West said the event will feature live music from several bands and musicians, as well as new and returning vendors, including artisans who do woodworking, embroidery and other arts and crafts. She said Prestonsburg Tourism is also partnering with Star City Arts to host a “re-do” of the mural project that was created on July 4 and later vandalized. The public is invited to attend and paint new murals that will be displayed in the city.
Hundreds of people turned out for the first two Night Market events, held in May and June. Prestonsburg Tourism started hosting these events last year, modeling them after similar events held in Pike County.
“Shop one-of-a-kind items, groove with the best up-and-coming artists and celebrate the Star City right under the stars,” the agency stated on social media.
The final Night Market will be held on Sept. 7.
