Inez Justice

Inez H. Justice, born Feb. 14, 1932, in Banner, closed her eyes on this world and opened them in the presence of God on Aug. 13, 2019.

Inez was the daughter of the late Homer Jack Hewitt and Grace Weddington Hewitt. She was a member of Faith Bible Church in Martin.

She was a devoted secretary serving others beginning with Brooks and Perkins Inc., Old Republic Insurance, retiring years later from Department of Mines and Minerals.

She was preceded in death of her husband of 45 years, Charles Bennett Justice; her brother Homer Hewitt Jr. and two sisters: Ruth Wade and Billie Mildred Marshall. 

Surviving is her sister Nan (Leo) Rice of Spring City, Tenn.; two daughters: Charlene (Hank) Wilson and Brenda May, both of Banner; her granddaughter Amanda (Frank Soldridge) May of Prestonsburg; her step-granddaughter Kamryn (Ben) Allison of Maryville, Tenn. and two step great-granddaughters: Shelby Soldridge of Prestonsburg and Karoline Allison of Maryville, Tenn. She is also survived by two very special friends, Rita Stumbo and Sue Burke.

She will always be in our hearts.

Funeral services for Mrs. Justice were held on Friday, Aug. 16 at 1 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel.

Arrangements were under the direction of Hall Funeral Home of Martin.

Donna Little

Donna Little, 67, of Melvin, passed away Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019, at her residence.   

She was born on Dec. 13, 1951, to the late William P. “Fair” and Hattie Evans Howell.  She was a homemaker and a believer of the Old Regular Baptist faith.  

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Dean Little; two daughters: Lila Leann Little and Deanna Lynn Little and two sisters: Ann Lou Spradlin and Reba Faye Jones.

She is survived by her son Paul David (Laura) Little of Melvin; daughter Faith Little of Melvin; two brothers: Robert (Rita) Howell and Fair Douglas Howel, both of Craynor; three sisters: Verbal Newsome of Little Robinson, and Gen Hall and Betty (John) Tackett, all of Grethel and two grandchildren: Mack Tyler Little and Breanna Dawn Little.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, Aug. 25, at the Joppa Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. 

Burial will follow in the Johnson-Little Family Cemetery at Melvin.

Arrangements were under the direction of Hall Jones Funeral Home of Virgie.

Ellis Little, 85, of Langley, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Joe Hall Cemetery, Topmost.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home of Martin.

Willis Ousley

Willis Ousley, 86, of Prestonsburg, died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 25, at Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.

Burial followed in Gethsemane Gardens, Prestonsburg.

Arrangements were under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home of Martin.

William Gene


Willima Gene “Bill” Reynolds, 63, of Bevinsville, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2019.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the Wheelwright Freewill Baptist Church, Bypro.

Burial followed in the Family Cemetery, Rileys Branch, Bevinsville.

Arrangements were under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home of Martin.
