James Meadows

James Meadows, 56, of Churubusco, Ind., died on Monday, Sept. 2, 2019, at his home.

Born in Columbia City, on Aug. 28, 1963, to the William and Juanita (Prater) Meadows, James spent his formative years in South Whitley, Ind., graduating from Whitko High School in 1981.

He worked as a logger and truly loved his job. He also spent a number of years driving truck. He enjoyed hunting, Wheel Horse lawn tractors, University of Kentucky basketball and walking the plank. He loved more than anything his grandchildren.

He is survived by his companion, Nicole Smith; two sons: David Meadows and James Meadows; a daughter, Suzie Meadows; his mother Juanita Meadows-Music and four bonus kids: John Smith, Curt Hamilton, Becky Hamilton and Britteny (Michael) Williamson.

He is preceded in death by his father and his brother Tommy Meadows.

Services will be held at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco, Ind., on Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Family also received friends on Thursday, Sept. 5.

James will be buried at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the family C/O Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, sheetsandchilds.com.

Hunter Mitchell

Bertha Marie Hunter Mitchell, 60, of Prestonsburg, died Friday, Aug. 30, 2019.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 5, at Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.

Burial followed in the Jeff Hunter Cemetery, Spurlock.

Arrangements were under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home of Martin.

Marcella Hall Moore, 80, of Printer, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019.

Visitation will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 6, at Hall Funeral Home, Martin.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Sept. 7, at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the Lucy Hall Cemetery, McDowell.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hall Funeral Home of Martin.

Jeanette Hall Ramey, 79, of Leitchfield, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 5, at Joppa Old Regular Baptist Church, Melvin.

Burial followed in the Buckingham Cemetery, Bevinsville.

Arrangements were under the direction of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home of Martin.
