LOUISA — Floyd Central pulled away to win convincingly in the 58th District Softball Tournament at Lawrence County High School on Monday, blanking county rival Betsy Layne 8-0.

The victory pushed Floyd Central into the 58th District Softball Tournament title game.

With the win, Floyd Central improved to 12-16.

Betsy Layne ended its season 3-19 with the loss.

Floyd Central pitcher Ashley Bellamy pitched a complete game shutout and earned the win in the circle.

Betsy Layne starting pitcher Nicole Castle took the pitching loss.

The Lady Jaguars set the tone early, scoring three runs on five hits in the opening inning.

In the nightcap of the 58th District Softball Tournament on Monday, homestanding Lawrence County defeated Prestonsburg 18-1 in three innings.

Floyd Central will face tournament host Lawrence County in the 58th District Softball Tournament title game at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
