Floyd Central was limited offensively as North Oldham pulled away to win 3-0 in the KHSAA Volleyball State Tournament at Valley High School’s JC Cantrell Gym on Friday.
With the loss, 15th Region champion Floyd Central ended its season 30-8.
North Oldham improved to 27-8 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the KHSAA Volleyball State Tournament with the win.
The champion out of the 8th Region, North Oldham set the tone early and never faltered. In a dominant performance, North Oldham won 25-12, 25-1, 25-8.
North Oldham posted 46 kills, 45 assists, 34 digs and 11 service aces as part of its victory.
Addison Foote, who is committed to Virginia Commonwealth, led North Oldham at the net, landing 22 kills for the Mustangs.
Brie Postema, who is committed to Virginia Tech, distributed 38 assists for North Oldham in the winning effort.
Floyd Central, under the direction of first-year head coach Darlene Moore, recorded 12 kills, 12 assists, 33 digs and four service aces in the season-ending setback. Allyson Stumbo (six kills, two digs), Jadyn Hall (three kills, five digs), Casey Howard (two kills, one dig), Gabrielle Howard (one kill, one assist), Amelia Wallace (six assists, six digs), Alivia Stumbo (one assist, three digs), Kiara Warrens (seven digs, three service aces) and Allison Turner (one assist, one dig, one service ace) contributed for the Lady Jaguars.
